Timothy Holdiness joins staff of Bogalusa Daily News

BOGALUSA, La. – Timothy Holdiness, a lifelong native of north Louisiana, born in Monroe, has joined the team at Bogalusa Daily News as a community reporter. He has written for numerous publications, including KTBS in Shreveport, The Current Sauce in Natchitoches, and the international news site ESCXTRA.

He is an alumnus of Ouachita Parish High School, graduating in 2014 and going on to attend the Shreveport Job Corps Center where he was the Student Government Association President as well as the leader of the Youth2Youth mentoring program. He received his Certified Nursing Assistant certification there and went on to work for the Northwest Louisiana Veterans Home while in college.

Holdiness earned an Associate of General Science in 2020 from Bossier Parish Community College where he served on the Student Government Association for two years. He then attended Northwestern State University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a minor in Criminal Justice in 2022. While at Northwestern, he chartered the Demon Cipher Society, a student organization centered around cryptology.

He was named best in the United States at using PowerPoint 2010 after winning a Microsoft Office Specialist Championship in 2014. Aside from his computer skills, he brings interpersonal skills to the newspaper, having been a frontline healthcare worker for over a decade. Holdiness is now caring for the Washington Parish community in the form of journalism.
