Suspect in 2021 homicide arrested and booked into BPD City Jail

On Tuesday, August 13, 2024, Broderick Chatmon of Bogalusa, was booked by the Bogalusa Police Department for the 2021 homicide of then, 21 year-old, Typolia Peters Jr.
In September 2021, warrants were obtained for the arrest of Chatmon after an extensive investigation into the incident. Chatmon fled the state, and was subsequently arrested in Texas for crimes committed in that state. Chatmon was held at the Harris County Jail, pending the resolution of the additional charges, before being transported back to Bogalusa to face the charges stemming from the 2021 homicide.
Chatmon was arrested and booked on the following charges: Lrs: 14:30-First Degree Murder, Lrs: 14:55-Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Lrs: 14:94-Illegal Use of Weapons, Lrs: 14:95.1-Possession/Carrying of a Weapon By a Convicted Felon.
