South Alabama’s Kirami Yego and Arkansas State’s Pauline Meyer each ran personal-best times that ranked among the top marks in their school’s histories, earning them Sun Belt Runner of the Week accolades.

Men’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Kirami Yego, South Alabama
(Fr., Kapenguria, Kenya)

Jaguars’ freshman Kirami Yego set a new personal best for the third time in as many meets this fall and recorded his seventh-career top-15 finish at the 20th Annual Live in LOU Classic hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission. His time of 23:42.8 (8K) bested his previous personal best by five seconds to place him 13th among the 353-runner field. His time was the fastest of the fall in the distance by a South Alabama runner and tied Tonny Okello for the eighth-fastest time in program history. Yego now holds the eighth- and ninth-fastest times at the distance in program history. He becomes the first three-time winner of the Sun Belt’s Men’s Runner of the Week honor since Louisiana’s Stanley Limoh also earned the accolade three times during the 2017 season.

Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week
Pauline Meyer, Arkansas State
(Sr., Gronau-Epe, Germany)

Red Wolves’ senior Pauline Meyer, a two-time Sun Belt Conference individual runner-up, ran a personal-best time of 16:58.6 (5K) to set an Arkansas State program record, dating back to the 2008 season. She placed fourth at the Chile Pepper Festival this past weekend and her 5K time is 44 seconds faster than any other time in the Sun Belt this season.
