James William Craft, known as “Rooster” to all those who knew him, passed away at his home in Varnado on the evening of Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at the age of 42.

He is survived by his mother, Tammy Jordan Sharp; and his four children, Yazmin, Natalie, Brayden and Naudiyah; one brother, Edward Craft; a niece, Destiny Craft; two twin nephews that were so special to him, Hayden and Jayden Craft; a nephew, Jeremiah; as well as the mother of his children, Tiffany Rester, whom he cared for deeply. He is also survived by four aunts, Jo Anne Polk, Liz Norris, Patsy Jordan and Jean Sullivan; and seven first cousins, Deirdra Phelps, Lesia Touchet, Coleman Polk III, Jenene Bracey, Bridget Wood, Adam Jordan and Wendy Dupont.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Earl Knight; maternal grandparents, Maude Adams Jordan and Nealy Jefferson Jordan; and paternal grandparents, Dewey Lee Knight and Fannie Knight.

Family and friends will always carry fond memories of “Rooster” held dear within their hearts. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date.

“And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away” (Revelations 21:4).
