Mrs. Melva Louise Parker, 93, of Bogalusa, La., died on Saturday, April 13, 2024 in North Oaks Medical Center, Hammond, La.

Melva was born Aug. 5, 1930 in Bogalusa, La. She was a homemaker and a member of Plainview Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert Joseph Branton and Alma F. Pitts Branton; her beloved husband, Billy Ray Parker; two sons, Donald Ray Stewart and Albert Joseph Stewart Jr.; two daughters, Alice Degen and Betty Watson; three brothers, Howard Branton, A.J. Branton,  and Herndon Branton; three sisters, Henrietta Bell, Lennie Wheat, and Rosamond Williams.

Survivors include three daughters, Kathleen Wheat of Bogalusa, La., Alicia (Re`Naz) Wilson of Bogalusa, La., Kimberly (Cesar) Aguilar of Baton Rouge, La.; numerous grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at Poole Ritchie Funeral Home (216 Alabama Avenue, Bogalusa, LA, 70427) on Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 11 a.m. The Rev. Scott Breland will officiate the service. Burial will follow in Plainview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends and have visitation from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
