Vernon J. Rachel passed away Saturday, March 21, 2015, at the age of 91. He was a resident of Bogalusa. Mr. Rachel was also a veteran of WWII.

He is survived by his daughter Margaret Sullivan; a son Vernon Bruce Rachel; a step-son Ralph McCain; 9 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his wives Ellen Ruth Rachel and Thelma Delores Rachel; daughters Carolyn Breshears and Marie Knight; one-step son Richard McCain; two sisters Winnie Rachel and Willie Rachel; a brother Ory Rachel; and his parents Henry and Elmer Rachel.

Visitation will begin Monday March 23, 2015 at 5:30 until 9 p.m. Funeral Services will begin Tuesday March 24, 2015 at 11:00a.m. All at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Byrd officiating. Interment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery with American Legion performing Military Rites.
