James Ray Boyd, a resident of Gretna, age 81, born on June 27, 1933, in Bogalusa, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2015, at Ochsner Medical Center-Westbank in Belle Chasse, La.

He was a United States veteran and served during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by one daughter, Gloria (Dale) Koenig of Gretna; one sister, Bobbie (Sonny) Byrd of Ocean Springs, Miss.; one grandson, Jeffery Boyd; and one great-grandson, Shane Boyd.

He was preceded in death by one son, James R. Boyd Jr.

Visitation will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home on Monday, March 9, 2015, from noon until 2 p.m. The funeral services will be held at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel at 2 p.m., with the Rev. Larry Mizell officiating. Interment is to follow at Bonnie Cemetery.
