Darius ‘Paul’ Johnson

Darius “Paul” Johnson was born Feb. 12, 1968, to Alexzine Martin and Clifford Paul Johnson (deceased) and departed this life at 1:05 p.m. Jan. 9, 2020, at Ochsner Hospital.

He was educated in the Orleans Parish School System.

He attended Lafayette Elementary, Beauregard Middle and graduated from John F. Kennedy High School in 1986.

Following graduation, he went to work as a waiter at various restaurants in the New Orleans area until he landed the waiter job and place he always wanted to be, The Camellia Grill, on Carrollton Avenue. He worked there until he became ill in June of 2019.

Darius leaves to cherish his memories: his mother, Alexzine Martin Fortier; a son, Sir Darius Johnson of Atlanta, Ga.; one granddaughter, Kensington “Serena” Johnson; two sisters, Tonja Renee and Dionne Denise Johnson; his aunts, Pastor Katherine Hart of Franklinton, Audrey Johnson of New Orleans, Augustine Robertson of Humble, Texas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clifford Paul Johnson.

Visitation was held Friday, Jan. 17, from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Franklinton, with Pastor Katherine Hart officiating. Interment was at Wilson Cemetery in Franklinton.
