Franklinton High School’s Addison Carter

Addison Carter is a senior at Franklinton High School. Carter is basketball player and she is a member of the school’s dance team, the Demonettes.
In basketball, Carter is a guard. Last year, she was an all-district honorable-mention player.
“Addy has been for the past four years, an essential athlete to this program. Student-athlete at the best, not only in the classroom, but on the court,” Franklinton girls basketball coach Elecia Crain said. “She has been one of my shooters of course, but a leader as well. A leader in the classroom and a leader on the court, I couldn’t ask for a better player. She has made some pretty impactful things happen although this season, we’re missing some people, so she’s missing some help. Looking past this part, I know she’ll be very successful in whatever she does and I’m looking to see what her future holds for her.”

What do you enjoy most about playing basketball?
I enjoy learning more about the game of basketball, because I’ve played since I could walk and I enjoy building like a sisterhood with my teammates.

What do you like best about being a student athlete?
The best thing had to be learning how to multitask and be able to have time management because it’s really hard being a student and an athlete when you have games every other night and you have to get your work done.

Who has been the most influential person in your school sports career? Why?
Coach Lecie (Elecia Crain) because she’s always been there. When I’ve had a bad game and I’ve lost my shot, she’s always helped me get it back and get back in the game.

Who is your favorite athlete? Why?
Tim Tebow, because he always gives his credit for his accomplishments to God and that’s really close to my heart, because I don’t do the accomplishments, He does.

Favorite team?
I don’t really have a favorite team, but I just like watching TV like basketball, any team, and just learning more about the game itself.

Best thing about living in Washington Parish?
The best thing would probably be that it’s such a small parish that like everywhere you go, you see someone that you know and it’s like everyone is a big family.
