Varnado’s Yienna Kemp recorded a triple-double, helping her team to a 58-28 District 8-1A victory over Covenant Christian Academy in the 2015-16 regular season finale on the road Thursday.

Kemp had a huge night and didn’t miss a quadruple-double by much. She scored 15 points, grabbed 12 rebounds, made 11 steals and dished out six assists in the victory.

Tarralyn Moses led Varnado in scoring with 23 points. Moses also had four assists, four steals, three rebounds and a block.

Ke’arria Green finished with nine points, two rebounds, three steals and an assist.

Jaden Foster tallied seven points to go with 11 rebounds, two steals, a block and an assist.

Chloe Foster added four points and five rebounds in the victory.

Thursday’s game concluded the regular season for Varnado.

The team finished with a 15-11 overall record and was 6-2 in the district season. The 6-2 mark in league play was good for a second-place finish in district to Houma Christian.
