Gwendolyn Rene Harris, 38, a resident of Mt. Hermon, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 5, 2015. She was a member of Plainview Church and did what she could without calling attention to herself. She would do things and give donations to the church but did not want anyone to know it.  She was a giver from the heart.

Gwen (as she preferred to be called) attended Bogalusa City Schools in the elementary grades. She completed junior high and high school at Mt. Hermon School. She graduated with the class of 1996.

Gwen worked in numerous fast food places, nursing homes and a car wash. She loved people. Gwen was always trying to say things to make them smile or feel better, even when she was not feeling well herself. She loved her family unconditionally.

Gwen leaves to enjoy her memories two daughters, Miracle and Markayla Harris of Mt. Hermon; her foster mother of more than 20 years, Barbara Brumfield of Mt. Hermon; a twin brother, Chris (Shadonna) Harris of Bogalusa; two brothers, John Dean of New Orleans and Todd Murray of Sacramento, Calif.; father, John Mason of Ponchatoula; and a host of other relatives and friends.

The visitation will be Sunday, Aug. 9, 2015, from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home of Franklinton. Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 10, 2015, at 11 a.m. at Plainview Church of Christ Holiness USA in Mt. Hermon. Eld. Albert Brumfield will be officiating. Interment will be held at Plainview Church Cemetery. Sign the guestbook at www.crainandsons.com.
