Roderick Da’Wayne Brown, 23, of Bogalusa, departed this life on Monday, Oct. 6, 2014, at Our Lady of the Angels Hospital in Bogalusa. He was born Nov. 9, 1990.

He was a devoted husband, father, son, grandson, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Mariah Harrison Brown; a daughter, Faith Danielle Brown; his mother, Caprice Walker (Elmer) Rogers; his father, Robert (Mignon) Brown; father-in-law Minister Benjamin Harrison Sr. of Bogalusa; mother-in-law Francine (Earl) Pines of Covington; grandmothers, Mary (Grover) Maxwell of Bogalusa, Ora Walker of Carson, Miss., and Gloria Kirsh of Bogalusa; grandfathers Charles (Ronda) Lee Walker of Perris, Calif., and Samuel (Sue) Camel Jr. of Gonzalez; two sisters, Chantel Walker and Princess Brown; a brother, Jerrod Moses; two nieces, Lorielle Walker and Londyn Roberts, both of Bogalusa; three children whom he loved like they were his own, Beautiful and Bri Bri of Franklinton and Tyshon Brumfield of Bogalusa; aunt/godparents Vanessa (Malcolm) Quillen of Snellville, Ga.; aunt Qiana Walker of Biloxi, Miss.; uncle Harriel D’Wayne (Kechia) May of Douglasville, Ga.; mentors Mr. Elbert Buckley and Laura Buckley of Bogalusa and Alcus Pittman of Dallas; and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewaun Yarbrough; and his grandparents, Rosie Harris, Monroe Jenkins, Gayle Jenkins, Rebecca Bush, Mildred and Robert Brown Sr. and J.L. Walker of Prentiss, Miss.

Visitation will be Friday, Oct. 17, 2014, from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. with family hour from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crain and Sons Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The funeral service will be Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014, at 10 a.m. at Second Baptist Church in Bogalusa, with the Rev. Darryl Self, pastor, and with Pastor Michael O’Ree officiating. Interment will be in the Bogalusa Cemetery.
