Clarence “Pops” Guilott, born April 4, 1926, passed away peacefully on Wednesday afternoon, Nov. 13, 2014, at the age of 88.

He is survived by his wife, Juanita Davis Guilott of Bush. He is also survived by two sons, Howard (Alice) Guilott of Orange, Texas, and C. Wayne Guilott of Bush; and three daughters, Glenda (James) Sharp of Langston, Ala., Sandra (Bruce) Knight of Enon and W. Sue (Jammie) Singletary of Bush. He has 10 grandchildren, Terry Sharp, Anthony (Tony) Knight, Theresa Addision, Branson Singletary, Brittany Sullivan, Susan Vallaroutto, Anita Guilott, Nancy Knight, Ryan Guilott and Stephainie Guilott; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton and Amelia Smith Guilott; three brothers, Carl, Earnest “Boots” and Thurman “Monkey”; and two sisters, Earlene Guilott Waltman and Augustine Guilott Magee.

He was a member of the Hebron Baptist Church and was a pioneer for the Bush Volunteer Fire Department. He was an Army veteran of WWII. He enjoyed traveling with family and friends. His favorite hobby was catching white perch.

Visitation was held from noon until service at 3 p.m. at Brown McGehee Funeral Home on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014. The Rev. Matt Smith officiated the service. Interment followed in the Hebron Baptist Church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hebron Baptist Church Building Fund.
