Pine Raiders Secure Key Wins in Basketball-Filled Week

In a basketball-filled week, the Pine Raiders clinched significant victories. Facing Bogalusa on both Monday and Tuesday, the Raiders and Lady Raiders emerged triumphant. The first game on Monday ended with a 58-31 victory, led by Anna Kate Thomas with 15 points and Kori Sumrall with 12. DJ Garrett’s impressive 20 points guided the Raiders to a 57-49 triumph. Holmes, Lester, and Sampson played pivotal roles for the Lumberjacks.

The Lady Raiders continued their winning streak on Tuesday against Bogalusa with Dillon Sumrall and Samantha Thomas leading the scoring. The Raiders secured a 56-39 victory over the Lumberjacks, with Garrett and Thomas contributing 16 and 13 points, respectively.

In the third game of the week, the Lady Raiders faced Franklinton, securing a convincing 61-32 win. D. Sumrall, Phelps, and A. Thomas made significant contributions to the scoreboard.

A competitive game against the Demons concluded with a 54-48 win for the Raiders, led by Garrett’s 19 points. Thomas, Lott, Spears, and Johnson also played crucial roles. RJ Hart led the Demons with 18 points.

On Friday, the Lady Raiders faced a challenge against the Lady Hornets, resulting in a 66-42 loss. Despite the setback, their offensive efforts showcased teamwork and ball movement.

The Raiders concluded the week with a tight district win against the Hornets, securing a 44-38 victory. The second half saw the Raiders pulling away for the win, maintaining the lead with a balanced offensive attack. The Raiders and Lady Raiders prepare for another intense four-game week, featuring both away and home games. Senior recognition is set for Thursday’s face-off against Mt. Hermon.
