NEW ORLEANS — The Saints have had a season of highs and lows in 2023. Although they began the season with a narrow one-point victory over the Tennessee Titans and a commanding 34-0 win over the New England Patriots, their record now stands at 3-4 after a 31-24 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 7 at the Little Caesars Superdome.
During the game against the Jaguars, quarterback Derek Carr’s frustration with the struggling offense was evident as he yelled at his teammates and coaches. Carr acknowledged his emotional outbursts, stating that he needed to hold himself accountable and “kind of chill out.”
The Saints’ offense has been struggling this season, failing to score points and running the same plays. Despite having talented players like Chris Olave, Michael Thomas, Rashid Shaheed, and Alvin Kamara, the offense has yet to find its rhythm.
Many believe that Carr is the problem. Head coach Dennis Allen expressed frustration, stating, “I think each and every one of us individually needs to be more consistent, and I think if we’re able to do that, then collectively as a group, we’ll be more consistent.”
