Bethlehem Baptist Church Graduate Recognition is May 21

Bogalusa—Bethlehem Baptist Church and Pastor Christopher Matthews, Sr., has scheduled its Graduate Recognition program on Sunday, May 21 during the 11:00 A.M. Worship Services. The theme for the event is, “Graduates—Seek God’s Foundation for Success,” and the Scripture is Proverbs 16:3.
The speaker for the event is Tamira Moss Smith. She is a Bogalusa High School and Southern University graduate. She has a degree in Kitchen Safety and Management. She has numerous certificates for training in Social Work. She serves as Bogalusa City Councilwoman at Large, president for the Bogalusa Museum and Ladies of Pure Heart, vice-president of Ladies First, co-owner of J’s Rental Services, LLC, co-owner SY Transportation, Director of Sadies’ House of Love, and Washington Parish Civic League. She is a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church. Smith is employed as a Social Service Manager, Social Services Coordinator. She is the wife of Jordan Smith, Sr. They are the parents of Jordan, Jayrin and Joshua Smith and grandparents of Kaysn Smith.
Honorees include: Ta’Kyla C. Collins, a Bogalusa High School graduate. College graduates are Cardeja Burris, diploma recipient in Therapeutic Massage, Delta College and Skylar S. Collins, a degree in Practical Nursing, Delta College ; Aisha Lathan, degree in Technology Science and Early Childhood Education, Northshore Technical Community College, and Stephanie C. Stevens, degree of Doctor of Jurisprudence, Southern University Law Center, Baton Rouge.
Graduates and their parents were invited to, a “Chat with Wisdom,” hosted with the Pastor, First Lady La’Chante Matthews, Associate Ministers, Dr. Raven Evans, Minister Benjamin Lewis, Minister Raynis Bridges and Graduation Committee Coordinators Jenet Patterson and Melissa Moses. Immediately following Sunday’s program, graduates will be honored with a reception in the Reverend Dr. Aaron J. Thompson Family Life Center.
