Samantha Williams, 39, of Angie, was arrested Tuesday on two counts of Filing or Maintaining False Public Records following an investigation by the Louisiana State Police (LSP). The investigation, referred by the Bogalusa Police Department (BPD) in June 2023, revealed that Williams had submitted multiple false complaints, claiming she was a victim of various crimes.

After a thorough investigation by LSP, Williams, the purchasing manager for the City of Bogalusa, was found to have fabricated the claims. An arrest warrant was obtained from the 22nd Judicial District Court in Washington Parish, and Williams was booked into the Washington Parish Jail. The investigation is ongoing.

In response to the arrest, Bogalusa Mayor Tyrin Z. Truong confirmed that Williams was a city employee but emphasized that the incident was unrelated to her job responsibilities.

“We are aware of the recent arrest of a City of Bogalusa employee. The incident is personal and unrelated to their duties or responsibilities at the City of Bogalusa,” Truong said in a statement. “At this time, we are unable to provide further details as this is an ongoing legal matter. The City of Bogalusa is committed to maintaining a respectful and professional work environment, and we will continue to monitor the situation to ensure it is in line with our internal policies. We respect the legal process and will not be making any additional comments now.”

The Louisiana State Police encourages residents to report criminal or suspicious activity through its secure online reporting system at www.lsp.org. All reports are treated confidentially and go directly to investigators.
