Bogalusa’s Ciearra Gibson and Caitlyn Holloway came in eighth and ninth at the Class 3A state meet that was held on May 5 at Bernie Moore Track Stadium at LSU.
GIbson, who is a junior, was eighth in the discus with a throw of 79 feet, 10.25 inches. South Beauregard’s Kenzie Hurdler won the title at 120-11.25. This was Gibson’s first time at the state meet.
Holloway, who is a senior, came in ninth for the long jump with a distance of 14-7.5. Caldwell Parish’s Nivea Lowe is the champion with a jump of 17-9. This is Holloways first time at state.
