Bowling Green School’s Joey Dupont is headed to state in the 100-meter hurdles.
Dupont came in third place in the event at Saturday’s Class 5A South State Meet at Silliman Institute.
She ran the event in 17.29 seconds. Silliman Institute’s Ava Easley won in 16.41.
Saturday’s meet at Silliman Institute included every running event except for the 3,200. The top four from each event are headed to the state meet.
The state meet’s field events and the 3,200 will be on May 5 at Jackson Academy. The rest of the running events will be on May 6 at Jackson Preparatory School.
In order to reach state, the athletes needed to come in the top four at their district meet.
