Several Ben’s Ford athletes headed to state

Several Ben’s Ford Christian School track/field athletes are headed to the state meet after qualifying in the Class 3A South State Meet that was held on Wednesday at Canton Academy.
Caden Pajak and Caleb Mathews came in second and third in the discus with throws of 118 feet, 10 inches and 107-2. Claiborne Academy’s Patrick Garrett won at 132-0.
Pajak was third for the shot put with a distance of 35-1 and teammate Aydin Keaton was sixth at 31-9. Garrett won at 38-10.
Ruston Kennedy ran fourth in the 3,200 meters at 13 minutes, 12 seconds and teammate Austin Bourne was sixth in 16:08. Prairie View Academy’s Jayce Wimbish won at 10:28.
Jonah Holston was fourth for the long jump at 17-7.5. Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Jacob Sessions won at 19-2.
Sam Talley came in fourth in the triple jump at 32-11 and teammate Jakob Robichaux was sixth at 29-5.25. Claiborne Academy’s Dillon Buckner won at 36-2.75.
Wednesday’s meet included the 3,200 meters and the field events. The rest of the running events will be on April 29 at Canton Academy. The top four from each event are headed to state.
The Class 2A 3,200 meters and the field events will be on May 5 at Canton Academy. The rest of the running events will be on May 6 at Jackson Preparatory School.
Ben’s Ford was the only school from Washington Parish in the meet.
