Franklinton athletes competed in the Region 3-4A Meet that was held at Joe Yenni Stadium on the campus of East Jefferson High School.
The top three from each event made it to state, which is being held on May 6 at LSU.
In order to reach regionals, the athletes had to qualify through their district meet by coming in the top four of their event.
Franklinton is the only school from Washington Parish in Region 3-4A.
In the regional, David Moore came in 10th and 12th in the discus and shot put with throws of 96 feet, 4 inches and 36-9.5. The Willow School’s Gregory August won the discus at 133-6 and Belle Chasse’s Jaedon Voisin topped the shot put at 50-5.
Andrew Crain was 11th in the 1,600 after running it in 5 minutes, 19 seconds. Belle Chasse’s Drake Breland ran a 4:40 to win.
Franklinton’s 4×400 and 4×800 teams both came in 11th with times of 3:36 and 9:35. The 4×400 group included Kaleb Causey, Christian Young, Rayshone Manuel and Timarion Partman. The 4×800 team had Jacob Crain, Andrew Crain, Ahmod Partman and Kaleb Causey. George Washington Carver won the 4×400 in 3:36 and Helen Cox captured the 4×800 in 8:20.
