Several Mt. Hermon School athletes are going to regionals

Mt. Hermon School has several track/field athletes going to regionals after qualifying in the District 7-B Meet that was held at Christ Episcopal School on Thursday.
Shunna Williams came in second place in the 100 meters and 200 meters with times of 13.61 seconds and 29.77. Christ Episcopal School’s Elizabeth Perry Walton won both events after clocking in at 13.51 and 29.01.
Thursday’s meet was a qualifier. The top four from each event are headed to regionals, which is April 24 at McNeese State University.
Mt. Hermon School was the only school from Washington Parish in the meet.
Katherine Quin was third in the 800 at 3:11. Christ Episcopal School’s Noah Watson won at 2:38.
Camdyn Quin came in third for the 1,600 in 7:28 and teammate Meggan Fountain was fifth at 8:38. Watson won in 5:38.
Fountain was third in the 3,200 at 17:39. Watson had the winning time in 12:51.
Skye Williams came in fourth in the discus at 49-8. Holden’s Jayden Sharp won in 72-10.
Bailey Fortenberry was third in the javelin with a throw of 84-11 and Alexis Trahan was seventh at 50-1. Holden’s Brooke Foster won at 106-0.
Mt. Hermon’s 4×100 relay team was fourth with a time of 1:00. Christ Episcopal School clocked a 53.13 to win.
Williams came in fifth for the shot put at 19-0. Hughes won at 28-7.
