Ben’s Ford’s Dantin, 4×800 relay team capture district titles

Ben’s Ford Christian School’s Avery Dantin captured the 3,200 and the school’s 4×800 relay team was victorious at the District 3-4A Meet.
Dantin ran the 3,200 in 17 minutes, 55 seconds.
Ben’s Ford Christian School’s 4×800 relay team ran a 13:43. The team had Dantin, Matilda Golby, Ella Hall and Ava Mitchell.
Thursday’s meet was a qualifier. The top four from each event are headed to the South State Meet that is at Canton Academy. The field events are April 26 and the running events are set for April 29.
Ben’s Ford Christian School was the only team from Washington Parish in the meet.
Delaney Perrette and Leah Rachel ran second in fourth in the 400 with times of 1:15.12 and 1:22. Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Emma Walker won in 1:15.10.
Dantin and Mitchell were second and fourth in the 1,600 at 8:36 and 8:52, as Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Clara Partridge won in 7:37.
Maddie Willis was second in the 300 hurdles with a time of 1:03. Discovery Christian School’s Mylee Mangum won in 58.85.
Ben’s Ford Christian School’s 4×400 relay team was second, while their 4×100 and 4×200 groups came in third with times of 5:15, 1:05 and 2:24. The 4×400 team had Golby, Rachel, Hall and Perrette. The 4×100 team was Ashlyn Dantin, Olivia Norwood, Rachel and Willis. The 4×200 group had Andie Grace Hughes, Norwood, Rachel and Perrette. Wilkinson County Christian Academy won the 4×400 and 4×200, while Discovery Christian School topped the 4×100 with times of 4:57, 2:02 and 56.53.
Perrette was third in the 100 in 14.59 and Norwood ran fifth at 16.22. Discovery Christian School’s Bella Applewhite won in 13.99.
Hughes ran third in the 800 at 3:08, while Willis was fifth in 3:33. Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Ann Patin won in 2:40.
Hughes was third in the 100 hurdles at 21.45 with WIlkinson County Christian Academy’s Ava Randall winning in 19.79.
Hughes came in third for the long jump with a distance of 13-9.5 and Mitchell was sixth at 12-0. Applewhite won at 15-10.
Perrette came in third for the triple jump at 28-3 and Norwood was fifth at 25-10, as Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Kyle Bolden won at 31-5.
Norwood and Gracie Willis were third and fourth in the discus with throws of 63-4 and 60-0.5. Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s McKenzie Bryant with a distance of 95-3.
Madeline Temples came in fourth in the shot put at 21-9 and Golby was fifth at 21-7. Bryant won at 29-5.5.
Ashlyn Dantin was fifth in the 200 with a time of 34.14. Applewhite ran 29.03 to win.
Ben’s Ford Christian School came in third place in the team competition with 65 points.
Wilkinson County Christian Academy won with 110 points in the three-team meet.
Discovery Christian School was second with 65.
