Ben’s Ford captures District 4-3A Meet

Ben’s Ford Christian School was victorious in the District 4-3A Track/Field Meet that was held on Thursday at Centreville Academy.
Ben’s Ford scored 102 points with three teams competing.
Wilkinson County Christian Academy was second with 84 and Discovery Christian School was next at 41.
Ben’s Ford had seven first-place finishes in events.
Caleb Mathews won two events, the 800 meters and the discus.
Mathews ran the 800 in 2 minutes, 24 seconds and threw the discus 106 feet, 5.25 inches. Teammate Caden Pajak was second in the discus with a throw of 102-7, while teammate Ruston Kennedy was sixth in the 800 at 3:47.
Pajak captured the shot put at 35-10.
Teammate Aydin Keaton was second with a distance of 33-2.5.
Kennedy captured the 3,200 in 14:17.
Teammate Austin Bourne came in second at 15:39.
Jonah Holston was best in the 100 in 12.75.
Mathews came in third after clocking a 12.94.
Steven Thibodeaux won the 100 hurdles with a time of 22.33.
Sam Talley was victorious in the triple jump with a distance of 33-6.75.
Robichaux was second at 31-1.5.
Thursday’s meet was a qualifier. The top four from each event are headed to the South State Meet that is at Canton Academy. The field events are April 26 and the running events are set for April 29.
Ben’s Ford Christian School was the only team from Washington Parish in the meet.
Jakob Robichaux and Talley ran second and third in the 400 with times of 1:04 and 1:08. Discovery Christian School’s Sam Prystupa won in 1:00.
Holston and Thibodeaux were second and fourth in the 200 with times of 25.77 and 27.32. Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Jacob Sessions won in 25.06.
Ben’s Ford was second in the 4×100, 4×400 and 4×800 and third in the 4×200 with times of 51.03, 4:49, 13:42 and 2:28. The 4×100 team had Holston, Thibodeaux, Talley and Mathews. The 4×400 group was Talley, Mathews, Thibodeaux and Robichaux. The 4×800 team had Kennedy, Bourne, Greyson Perrette and Ben McGrath. The 4×200 group was Jonus McNabb, Pajak, Talley and Mathews. Wilkinson County Christian Academy won all four relays with times of 49.80, 1:44, 4:43 and 12:10.
Holston came in second for the long jump at 17-8.75. Talley was fifth at 15-5.75. Sessions won with a distance of 19-8.5.
Thibodeaux and Pajak ran third and fourth in the 300 hurdles in 53.43 and 1:13. Sessions ran 46.39 to win.
Perrette was fourth in the 1,600 in 7:00 and Bourne came in fifth in 7:54. Wilkinson County Christian Academy’s Easton Buteaux won in 5:33.
Ben’s Ford Christian School coach Clay Norwood thanked Bogalusa coach Eddie Walker and Bogalusa High School for allowing them to practice the Bogalusa’s track/field complex.
