Franklinton names Blakeney its March Student of the Month

Landon Jay Blakeney is the 18-year-old son of Dusty and Amy Blakeney and brother of Cadence Blakeney. Landon currently has a 4.1 grade point average and has earned a composite score of 26 on the ACT. Landon will graduate with 12 hours of Dual Enrollment credit in Western Civilization, College Algebra, English 101 and English 102 through Southeastern Louisiana University. He is a four-year member of the National Beta Club and a three-year member of the National Honor Society, where he currently serves as Parliamentarian. Landon is a four-year student of the Talented Art class and the Editor of the yearbook for two-years. Through these clubs, he has participated in many community service projects, such as donating goods for hurricane victims, serving as a buddy at Special Olympics, making decorations for nursing home residents, volunteering at the local food bank, and serving in various capacities at the Washington Parish Free Fair. Throughout high school, Landon has received a number of awards and accolades. He has earned departmental awards in several subjects, as well as the Academic Excellence Awards, and Banner Roll. Recently, Landon’s artwork was chosen as the official poster for the LHSAA Prep Classic Football State Playoffs. Following graduation, Landon plans to attend the University of Southern Mississippi, where he will major in Media and Entertainment Visual Arts, and would like to utilize his artistic talents to pursue a career as a creative director and producer in the entertainment industry.
