Pine’s Williams reaches the podium

Pine’s Ty Williams made it to the podium in the Division III state meet that was held on Saturday at the Cajundome in Lafayette
Williams posted a 445 squat, 245 bench press and a 515 deadlift for a 1,205 total.
E.D. White Catholic High School’s Jeffery Diedrich won the title with 1,400.
Pine’s Albert Caillouet and Kole Miller were fifth and seventh.
Caillouet came in fifth for the 114s with a 660 total after squatting 270, benching 115 and deadlifting 275.
Abbeville’s Bryan Mao won at 860.
Miller was seventh for the 165s with a 1,115 total that tied him with Crowley’s Brandon Lopez. Miller squatted 405, benched 245 and deadlifted 465. Miller won the tiebreaker because he had a lower body weight.
Port Allen’s Landon Jones won the title with a 1,295.
Pine was 12th in the team competition with six points.
Church Point High School won the title with 40 points, as 25 teams competed.
Iota was second with 33, followed by Abbeville’s 26, E.D. White’s 24 and Wossman rounded out the top five with 20.
