Bogalusa’s Gibson captures the discus

Bogalusa’s Ciearra Gibson captured the discus and came in second for the 100 meters at the 2023 South Terrebonne Gator Relays that took place on Monday.
GIbson threw the discus 101 feet, 3 inches to win the event.
Gibson came in second in the 100 with a time of 13.04 seconds. Ellender’s Myi’Laili Cockern won in 12.54.
Bogalusa was the meet’s only team from Washington Parish.
Sha’Kenzie Jefferson came in third in the 300 hurdles with teammate Serenity Jackson tallying a fourth-place finish with times of 58.8 and 1 minute, 1 second. Ellender’s Terrionna Mckenzie won in 51.78.
Jaylah Bearden and Serenity Jackson ran fourth and sixth in the 100 hurdles with times of 21.58 and 21.8. Thibodaux’s Gabrielle Fanguy won at 16.83.
Bogalusa’s 4×200 relay team was fifth in 2:00. The group included Ciearra Gibson, Serenity Jackson, Sha’Kenzie Jefferson and Jaylah Bearden. Thibodaux won in 1:46.
