Pine sweeps doubleheader to open district

Pine’s baseball team swept Amite in a doubleheader at home on Thursday, 11-0 and 17-0 to start the District 7-3A season.

In the 11-0 game, Luke Spears went 2-for-2 with two runs batted in and two runs scored.

Preston Stogner homered and singled, drove in a run and scored two runs.

Ethan Ryals doubled and scored two runs.

Brody Thomas doubled and recorded an RBI.

Trey Knight singled, drove in a run and scored a run.

Lucas Lemaire singled and had an RBI.

Hayden Logsdon scored two runs and drove one home, while Brady Polk and Turner Deleon both scored a run.

In the 17-0 game, Logsdon singled with three RBIs and two runs scored.

Trace Steele singled and drove in two.

Lemaire posted a hit with an RBI and a run scored.

Polk had a hit and two runs scored.

Knight drove in three runs and scored two runs, while Spears scored two runs and drove in two, Stogner and Ryals both scored two runs and drove in run, Cole Rester and Thomas both  scored a run and drove in a run and Levi Spears scored two runs and Nick Duncan scored a run.

Pine’s next game will be against Holden on March 20 on the road.
