Franklinton topped in Northlake Christian Tournament, splits games on Monday, Tuesday

Franklinton’s softball team was defeated in the Northlake Christian School Round Robin and then split games on Monday and Tuesday.

Franklinton was defeated by Northlake Christian School and De La Salle in the Northlake Christian Round Robin on March 4.

The first game of the tournament was a 2-1 loss to Northlake Christian School in nine innings.

Skylar Branch went 3-for-4, missing hitting for the cycle by only a homer. She also scored a run.

Caylin Turnage singled three times.

Karlie Lord singled and drove in a run.

Rayanna Schilling tripled.

Aayah Faour doubled.

Audrey Carter singled.

Branch allowed two unearned runs on three hits with 17 strikeouts and five walks.

The next game was a 19-1 loss to De La Salle.

Schilling doubled and scored a run.

Heaven McNeese and Lord both singled.

Carter drove in a run.

On Monday, Franklinton defeated Covington, 8-4, at home.

Franklinton jumped out to a 7-0 lead after the first inning.

Lord hit a grand slam and singled.

Turnage singled, scored two runs and drove in a run.

Faour singled with an RBI and scored a run.

Kaydan Ard singled and scored a run.

Branch, Shyanne Burris, McNeese and Schilling all scored a run, while Carter drove in a run.

Branch allowed no earned runs on two hits with 11 strikeouts and five walks in a complete game.

Tuesday’s game was a 17-1 loss to Covington in four innings.

Turnage singled and scored a run.

Branch singled and drove in a run.

McNeese singled.

Franklinton’s next game is March 13 against Mt. Hermon School at home.
