Franklinton defeated in Ponchatoula Tournament, downs Holden

Franklinton’s baseball team was defeated in the three games at the Ponchatoula Tournament and then won against Holden on Tuesday.
The Ponchatoula Tournament was held March 2-4.
On March 2, Franklinton came up short to Lutcher, 2-1, in the opener of the tournament.
Elisha Hart went 2-3 with a run scored.
Dillon Pace singled.
Banyan Penton allowed two unearned runs on five hits over 6-2/3 innings with nine strikeouts and two walks.
The next day was a 10-5 loss to Ponchatoula.
Cade Phillips singled, doubled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Hart doubled and drove in two runs.
Micah Wascom singled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Penton doubled.
De’Ron Sincero singled.
Rickkeen Burkhalter scored a run and drove in a run.
Franklinton’s final game of the tournament was a 6-4 loss to Hammond.
Hart singled twice and drove in a run.
Phillips doubled and drove in a run.
Penton singled and had an RBI.
Jorrian Burkhalter singled.
Wascom, Braylon Magee and Tryson Fowler all scored a run.
On Tuesday, Franklinton was victorious over Holden, 11-3, at home.
Wascom tripled, drove in a run and scored two runs.
Penton doubled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Hart singled, scored a run and drove in a run.
Burkhalter singled and scored two runs.
Amias Tate and Brady Smith both singled and drove in a run.
Jorrian Burkhalter, Magee, Emerson Henn, Ethan Buffinet and Phillips all scored a run.
Winning pitcher Tyler Hammond allowed a run on a hit with five strikeouts and two walks over five innings.
Franklinton’s next game will be on March 9 in its tournament.
