Franklinton girls soccer was victorious 7-2 over Plaquemine on the road Tuesday night.
The scoring leaders for the Lady Demons were Mercedes Lopez with three goals, Morgan Varnado with two goals, Kaylee Ard with one goal and Madysen Varnado with one goal.
Susan Bradford had five saves in the victory.
“I’m proud of the work our girls have done to continue to build this program,” Franklinton coach Matthew Hughes said. “We are on the right track, but we are also mindful of how much work we still have ahead of us. Our communication must be more consistent and we have to find a way to start faster. We have a tendency to feel our way into the game instead of dictating the pace from the outset.”
“However this thing shakes out at the end of the season in terms of the playoffs, I’ll live with the result. For us, it’s about the day-to-day process of getting incrementally better and taking steps forward. Our girls have done that,” Hughes said.
Franklinton’s next game will be on Jan. 20 against Kenner Discovery Health Science at home.
