Pine hosting Amite

Pine is back home on Friday and will face Amite in a District 7-3A contest with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
“Amite’s a very talented team,” Pine coach Bradley Seal said. “They are every year. We’ve just got to focus on ourselves and do our assignment and we’ll be ok.”
Pine comes in with a 5-1 record after a 29-21 loss to Albany on Friday.
Last week, Luke Spears threw for 273 yards on 20-of-34 passing with four touchdowns.
Preston Stogner made nine catches for 108 yards and two touchdowns.
Ke’Montre Magee ran for 43 yards and a touchdown.
Defensively, Ethan Ryals made 10 tackles and recorded a sack.
These teams have met each year over the last five seasons with Amite winning four of those meetings.
Pine was defeated in last year’s game, 43-7.
Both teams are rated in the top 10 power points ratings according to geauxpreps.com. Amite is seventh, while Pine is ninth.
Amite starts the week with a 4-2 record.
Last week, Amite was defeated by Bogalusa, 20-14.
Amite is ranked eighth in the Louisiana Sports Writers Association Class 3A poll.
