The fourth annual Jaron Edwards Basketball Camp was held last week at Bowling Green School.

The camp was run by Bowling Green coach Edwards.

Edwards said they taught basic fundamentals by having fun.

“They think basketball is a lot of work, which it is, but I want it to be fun for them,” Edwards said.

The clinic had 51 children from third through eighth grade.

Participants learned defense, rebounding, dribbling, passing and shooting.

They received a T-shirt and a basketball.

“I got that job (as Bowling Green’s basketball coach) late, so I figured I wouldn’t have that many,” Edwards said. “I got way more (campers) than I thought. The varsity girls, parents and my wife (Hayden Edwards) helped me with the camp. They helped me teach, keep the kids straight and they helped facilitate everything. Hopefully the kids enjoyed themselves and have found a new outlook on basketball.”
