Parish has 3 teams reach softball playoffs

Three local teams are about to start their playoff runs.

Pine and Mt. Hermon School are playing at home, while Franklinton will be on the road.

Pine comes into the playoffs with a 12-6-1 record and the 11 seed in Class 2A and is at home facing No. 22 Vinton (9-17) on Monday at 5 p.m. The winner will play either sixth-seeded DeQuincy (18-9) or No. 21 Delcambre (6-21).

In Class B, Mt. Hermon is the No. 16 team and is 8-13 this year. Mt. Hermon will play against No. 17 Forest (6-18) on Monday at 4:30 p.m. The winner will face top-seeded Holden (21-8). Holden has won four state titles in a row.

Moving to Class 4A, Franklinton is the No. 25 seed and is 7-19. Franklinton will be on the road, heading to No. 8 Cecilia (12-15) on Monday at 5 p.m. The winner will go against either No. 9 Pearl River (14-8) or No. 24 Plaquemine (9-12).
