Pine Raiders tally 3-0 record in games held last week

Pine’s Raiders posted a 3-0 record in games that were held on last Tuesday and Thursday with a win over St. Helena College and Career Academy and a doubleheader win against Varnado in District 9-2A games at home.
Last Tuesday’s game was a 17-1 win over St. Helena College and Career Academy in five innings.
Lucas Lemaire had two singles, a run batted in and two runs scored.
Chase Cooper tripled, drove in two runs and scored two runs.
Luke Spears tripled with a run batted in and two runs scored.
Ethan Ryals singled with an RBI and two runs scored.
Aden Wiggins tripled and scored a run.
Brody Thomas singled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Bryson Thomas singled and drove in a run.
Hayden Logsdon, Turner Deleon, Clint Miley, Chris Strahan, Nick Duncan, Cam Brown and Brandon Sprehe all scored a run.
Bryson Thomas allowed a run on a hit with six strikeouts and a walk over three innings. Miley threw two no-hit shutout innings with six strikeouts and two walks.
Thursday’s games were 18-1 and 9-1 over Varnado.
In the 18-1 game that went five innings, Lermaire went 3-for-3 with an RBI and three runs scored. He missed hitting for the cycle by only a homer.
Miley homered, drove in two runs and scored two runs in a two-hit game.
Bryson Thomas posted two hits with three RBIs and a run scored.
Wiggins singled, doubled, had two runs batted in and two runs scored.
Ryals singled, doubled and drove in a run.
Sprehe tripled, drove in a run and scored a run.
Cooper tripled with an RBI and two runs scored.
Logsdon singled and scored two runs.
Brady Polk singled and had a run batted in.
Connor Caldwell, Duncan, Trey Knight, Strahan and Deleon all scored a run and Brody Thomas drove in a run.
Sprehe pitched three shutout innings, allowing one hit with eight strikeouts and no walks.
Brody Thomas allowed one unearned run on no hits with six strikeouts and no walks.
Varnado’s Jamari Lewis singled and scored a run.
In the 9-1 win, Bryson Thomas tripled, drove in two and scored a run.
Lemaire doubled with two RBIs and a run scored.
Logsdon doubled and scored two runs.
Wiggins singled and had an RBI.
Cooper, Brody Thomas, Ryals, Sprehe and Deleon all scored a run.
Strahan and Spears combined on the five-inning no-hitter. Strahan went three innings of no-hit, no-run ball with seven strikeouts and a walk. Spears allowed one unearned run over two innings with five strikeouts and no walks.
Varnado’s Jabari Robinson scored a run.
Last Tuesday, Varnado came up short to Kentwood, 17-16, in league play on the road.
Quovadis Bickham posted three hits.
Tyler Whitfield doubled and drove in two runs.
Pine will play again on April 5 against Kentwood on the road, while Varnado’s next game will be against Amite on the road on Monday.
