Franklinton splits games with Lakeshore, Pearl River

Franklinton’s Demons topped Lakeshore on Tuesday and were defeated by Pearl River on Thursday to begin District 9-4A play.

Tuesday’s league opener was an 11-4 victory over Lakeshore at home.

Micah Wascom struckout 13 hitters over six innings. He allowed three runs on six hits with one walk.

At the plate, Wascom tallied two hits and two runs batted in.

Rickeen Burkhalter had two hits, an RBI and a run scored.

Rickey Burkhalter singled twice and drove in a run.

Tryson Fowler recorded a hit, two runs batted in and two runs scored.

Nathan Parden singled and scored two runs.

Banyan Penton and Dillon Pace both singled and scored a run.

D.J. Corkern, Trevor Vise, Will Turner and Cade Phillips all scored a run.

Thursday’s game was a 7-4 loss on the road.

Turner posted three hits that included a double and two runs scored.

Penton singled three times.

Parden tallied a hit and two runs batted in.

Pace singled with an RBI.

Rickey Burkhalter and Fowler both singled.

Vise and Corkern both scored a run.

Franklinton’s next game will be on April 2 against Salmen at home.
