Hutchinson Community College’s Clyedterrious Thompson set two personal records in Saturday’s Southwestern College Jinx Invitational in Winfield, Kan.

Thompson, a 2020 Bogalusa High School graduate, captured the 200 meters and was second in the 100, which were both close races.

Thompson ran the 200 in 21.35 seconds and won the event by two one-hundredths of a second.

Thompson clocked in the 100 in 10.68 with the winner running a 10.64.

Thompson also competed in the long jump and 4×400 relay.

Thompson was fourth in the long jump with a distance of 21 feet, 0.75 inches. First place was 22-3.5.

Thompson was part of a third-place 4×400 relay team that ran in 3 minutes, 25 seconds. First place was 3:17.

Hutchinson’s next meet will take place on Friday and Saturday at the Friends Invitational at Friends University in Wichita, Kan.
