Varnado’s Wildcats were defeated by Independence, 16-12, in a District 9-2A game that was held at Pine on Wednesday.

Quantrell Robertson recorded four hits with a run batted in and three runs scored.

Quovadis Bickham singled twice with two RBIs and two runs scored.

Chase Lewis singled, drove in a run and scored a run.

Jabari Lewis and Kevonte Peters both singled and scored a run.

Collin Lozier scored three runs, while Jamari Lewis tallied one run.

Varnado coach Mark Barnwell gave a shoutout to Pine coach Blake Dillon for allowing the Wildcats to use their field for home games.

Varnado’s next game will be against Northlake Christian School on the road Monday.
