Lady Demons competed at Ponchatoula last week

Franklinton’s Lady Demons started the track/field season on March 4 at the Ponchatoula Invite 2022.
Franklinton’s 4×200 meter relay team that had Aleigha Dalton, Kadence Smith, T’Kyra Robinson and Morgan Gilbert came in third place with a time of 2 minutes, 18 seconds. Destrehan won in 1:46.
Franklinton’s 4×100 relay team of Dalton, Natalie Seal, Bailee Lindsey and Hope Phelps was fifth at 1:01. Destrehan was the winner in 50.25 seconds.
Ka’Niyha Dillon was fifth in the 800 with a time of 3:55. Fontainebleau’s Cecelia Cherry won in 2:43.
Jennifer Dong and Isabella Lambert were eighth and 12th in the discus with throws of 68 feet, 2 inches and 45-11. Covington’s Leah Whittington won at 102-2.
Ja’Mirel Causey and Lambert were eighth and 10th in the javelin with distances of 49-5 and 42-3. St. Thomas Aquinas Jordyn Correjolles threw a 100-6 to win.
Jayla McClane and Arielle Magee came in ninth and 11th in the shot put with distances of 22-10.5 and 22-7. Destrehan’s Anaya Kimble won at 39-2.
Mercedes Lopez and Amiryan Dyson were ninth and 10th in the 200 after running times of 34.02 and 36.18. Destrehan’s Marley Richard won in 25.93.
Hope Phelps and Lindsey were 10th and 12th in the 100 with times of 14.75 and 15.59. Slidell’s Khailee Calloway won in 12.95.
The meet also featured junior varsity competition.
Franklinton’s 4×100 relay team of Feiana WIlson, Morgan Gilbert, T’Kyra Robinson and Mercedes Lopez was victorious with a time of 1:07.
Ava Lavigne and Seal were third and fourth in the 300 hurdles with times of 1:00.18 and 1:00.84. Slidell’s Coren Casborn captured the event in 56.11.
Keteylar Hodges and Smith came in third and sixth in the shot put with distances of 24-11 and 20-5. Destreahan’s Kya Jones won at 26-7.
Magee was fourth in the javelin with a throw of 45-10. Ponchatoula’s Olivia Leroux won at 81-0.
Aleigha Dalton, Ava Lavigne and Seal were fourth through sixth in the 100. St. Scholastica Academy’s Lucy Divittorio won in 20.19.
Carli Smith and Selana Wilson came in eighth in and ninth in the long jump in 11-3 and 9-10. Divittorio won at 13-7.5.
Causey and Smith were ninth and 10th in the discus with throws of 41-1 and 40-2. Destrehan’s Anaya Kimble won at 82-0.
Franklinton’s next meet will be on April 1 at Jewel Sumner.
