Pine wins 2-of-3 to start season

Pine’s Lady Raiders started the softball season with a 2-1 record.
Pine started the season with an 8-6 win over Lakeshore on Feb. 23 at home.
Kirbee Magee went 2-for-4 with a run batted in and two runs scored.
Bailey Brooks tripled, drove in four and scored a run.
Alyssa Phelps singled with an RBI and two runs scored.
Baleigh Dunn singled and drove in a run.
Addyson Phelps, Dillon Sumrall and Lily Crain all scored a run.
The next game was an 8-3 loss to Springfield on the road on Feb. 24.

On Thursday, Pine topped Franklinton, 6-5, at home.

Franklinton’s Skylar Branch and Isabella Causey both doubled, scored a run and drove in a run.

On Wednesday, Franklinton was defeated by Loranger, 19-18, on the road.
Branch tripled three times, drove in three runs and scored five runs.
Shayanne Burris singled twice, doubled once, drove in four runs and scored a run.
Schexnider tallied three hits that included a double, three RBIs and three runs scored.
Causey went 3-for-4 with a double, a run scored and a run batted in.
Smith had two singles, two runs scored and a run batted in.
Schillings posted two hits, including a double, with an RBI and two runs scored.
Faour singled twice and scored two runs.
Carter singled and drove in two runs.
Kaleigh Provost tallied a hit and two runs scored.
Pine’s next game will be held on Monday at home against Northlake Christian School.
Franklinton’s next game will be on Tuesday at home against Jewel Sumner.
