Franklinton’s girls tennis team tied Ponchatoula and was defeated by Hammond, while the boys were defeated by Hammond and Ponchatoula in matches at home on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Wednesday, Franklinton’s girls tied Ponchatoula, 2-2.
Franklinton’s Kendra Williams won her match against Angelina Ehrensing in a tiebreaker.
McKinley Burt won her match over Hailey Hewitt, 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles, Franklinton’s Sarah Graham/Emily Carpenter were defeated, 6-2, 6-4, by Lexi Maillet/Jenny LIttle.
Franklinton’s Jennifer Dong/Hannah Yarbarough were defeated by Kylie Roberson/Gracie Coyne, 6-1, 6-2.
Tuesday’s match against Hammond was a 5-0 loss.
Williams was defeated by Olivia Bender, 6-1, 6-1.
Burt/Dong were defeated, 6-4, 6-1.
Graham/Carpenter were defeated, 6-2, 6-3, by Lourdes Peregra and Piper Bentiregna.
McKenna Rushing/Chloe Raybourn were topped by Angelique Patterson/Lilly Kael, 6-4, 6-4.
Switching to the boys team, they were defeated by Hammond, 4-1.
Franklinton’s Matthew Rogers topped Jude Delatte, 6-3, 7-5.
Franklinton’s Blake Kennedy was defeated by Graham Mizell, 6-1, 6-3.
In doubles, Andrew Fitzmorris/Rhett Brignac were defeated in a tiebreaker.
Franklinton’s Ethan Schilling/Wyatt Seal was defeated by Presley Stafford/Buddy Glover, 6-4, 6-3.
Frankinton’s Van Mizell/Kennedy were defeated by Glover/James Hinton, 6-2, 6-0.
Wednesday’s match was a 3-0 loss.
Brignac was defeated 6-4, 6-3 by Todd Bode.
Mizell was defeated by Camdyn Populis, 6-1, 6-1.
In doubles, Fitzmorris/Kennedy were defeated, 6-1, 6-3.
Franklinton will be back in action on Monday against Pearl River at home.
