Bowling Green takes in 2nd at tourney

Bowling Green School’s Lady Buccaneers came in second place in the 2022 Class 5A Tournament after a 55-45 loss to Leake Academy on Saturday.
The tournament was held last week at Brookhaven Academy.
Bailey Devall had a double-double and led Bowling Green in points with 17 on 7-of-14 from the field. Devall grabbed 10 rebounds and made a steal.
Anna Claire Crowe posted six points on two 3-pointers and one rebound.
Claire Wascom recorded six points and three boards.
K.K. Seal had five points that included a 3-pointer along with three rebounds, an assist and a steal.
Hope Crowe posted five points that included a 3-pointer, two rebounds and a steal.
Chloe Bertrand had four points, a rebound and two steals.
Bridget Devall posted two points, two rebounds and two steals.
Bowling Green reached the finals with a 37-31 victory over Copiah Academy on Friday.
Bailey Devall posted 14 points to lead Bowling Green. She made two 3-pointers, grabbed seven rebounds, dished out an assist and made two steals.
Bridget Devall had eight points that included two 3-pointers with a rebound and an assist.
Hope Crowe recorded six points on two 3-pointers.
Seal had four points, three boards, an assist and two steals.
Bertrand tallied three points, six boards and two steals.
Wascom had two points and a rebound.
Anna Claire Crowe grabbed a rebound.
Bowling Green began the tournament with a 47-33 win over Simpson Academy on Wednesday, Feb. 16
Bertrand, Bailey Devall and Seal made the all-tournament team.
Bowling Green moved to the Overall Tournament that begins Feb. 22. Bowling Green will play against Regents School of Oxford at home at 6 p.m.
