Regional powerlifting will take place at Covington High School on Feb. 19 and Feb. 26, as lifters attempt to get to the state meet.

The boys meet will be on Feb. 19, while the girls will compete on Feb. 26.

The events will start at 9 a.m.

Three local teams are competing on Feb. 19 in Bogalusa, Franklinton and Pine.

Two will be competing on Feb. 26 in Franklinton and Pine.

To reach state, the lifter has to either win their weight class at the regional meet or come in the top 10 of their division, but when somebody wins their regional, that counts as a spot toward state. So if somebody from a Division I school wins at regionals, there are nine spots left for state. There are six regions.
