Bowling Green School’s Lady Buccaneers started the 2022 Class 5A Basketball Tournament with a 47-33 victory over Simpson Academy at Brookhaven Academy on Wednesday.

Chloe Bertrand led Bowling Green in points with 12 on 6-of-11 from the field. Bertrand pulled down four rebounds, dished out an assist and made three steals.

Peyton Dupuy posted eight points on 3-of-5 that included two 3-pointers to go with two rebounds and a steal.

Bailey Devall had seven points, five boards, an assist and four steals.

Bridget Devall recorded six points after making all three shot attempts along with two rebounds.

Claire Wascom tallied five points, six rebounds, an assist and a steal.

K.K. Seal posted four points, a rebound, four assists and two steals.

Hope Crowe had three points on a 3-pointer with a rebound.

Anna Claire Crowe posted two points and five rebounds.

Bowling Green moved on to the second round to play against Copiah Academy. The game took place after Friday’s press time. The winner plays for the title at 2:15 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 19.
