Slavko Stevic claimed the Southland Conference’s top high jump ranking after finishing second in the event Saturday during the final day of the Iowa State Classic in Ames, Iowa.

Stevic, a sophomore, jumped six feet, 10.25 inches (2.07m) Saturday to move to the top of the Southland high jump. Out of Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia, Stevic is looking to continue to add to his SLU resume.

Stevic won the 2020 Southland Indoor high jump championship and finished runner up in 2021. He also qualified for the NCAA East Prelims last May during the outdoor season.

Stevic holds an indoor personal best of 7-0.5 (2.15m) set Feb. 21, 2020 at the LSU Twilight in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

He and the Lions will continue preparation for the Southland Conference Indoor Championships Sunday and Monday March 1-March 2 in Birmingham, Alabama at the Birmingham Crossplex.

Next, Southeastern will compete in the LSU Twilight Feb. 18 in Baton Rouge at Carl Maddox Fieldhouse.
