Varnado’s Wildcats were defeated by St. Helena College and Career Academy and Independence in District 9-2A games held Feb. 4 and on Tuesday.

The game on Feb. 4 was a 66-42 loss to St. Helena College and Career Academy at home.

Dameon Roberts Jr. posted a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Jamari Lewis missed a double-double by only a point, going for nine points and 10 boards.

Varnado lost to Independence, 62-57, on the road Tuesday.

Roberts posted another double-double with 24 points and 12 boards.

Quanta Peters recorded 10 points, five assists and four steals.

Lewis once again tallied nine points and 10 rebounds.

Varnado’s next game will be on Feb. 11 against East Iberville at home.
