Mt. Hermon School, Varnado split games against each other

Mt. Hermon School and Varnado split their games against each other on Monday and Wednesday with each team winning on their home court — sandwiched around district contests on Tuesday.

On Monday, Mt. Hermon School defeated Varnado, 50-30, at home.

Mt. Hermon’s Brooklyn Falgout scored a game-high 14 points that included a 3-pointer.

Bailey Fortenberry tallied 10 points.

Catherine Quin posted nine that included a 3-pointer.

Blayke Brinker tallied seven and she made a 3-pointer.

Shanna Williams recorded six.

Amuriel Williams and Alexa Bulloch both had two.

Jakyra Daggs led Varnado with 13 points.

Myeasha Peters and Jalisia Jackson both tallied six.

Tyriah Davis posted three.

Kasia McGowan put up two.

On Wednesday, Varnado defeated Mt. Hermon School, 49-36, at home.

Peters was Varnado’s leader in points with 20.

Jackson tallied 10.

Daggs had nine.

Fox and McGowan both posted four.

Shanna Williams led Mt. Hermon with 14 points.

Quin tallied 12.

Amuriel Willams and Fortenberry both had five.

Both teams played on league games on Tuesday.

Varnado won Tuesday’s game over Independence, 50-45, in District 9-2A play at home.

Peters tallied 18 points to lead Varnado.

Fox, Jackson and Daggs all posted 10.

McGowan had two.

Mt. Hermon was defeated by Holden, 60-17, on the road on Tuesday in District 8-B play.
