Algy Guy Curtis Jr., a lifelong Bogalusa resident, died Jan. 9, 2022, at the age of 84. Mr. Curtis was born on May 18, 1936, to Algy and Velma Curtis Sr.

Mr. Curtis served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as a paratrooper and transport officer. He spent six years serving his country and was honorably discharged after an automobile accident. He worked many years as an insurance salesman.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne Curtis; mother, Velma Curtis; father, Algy Curtis Sr.; and sisters, Nancy and Jean.

Mr. Curtis is survived by his son, Stephen McCarroll; granddaughter, Christen Kubricht; their spouses; his grandson, Nicholas; and great-granddaughters, Lily Anne and Paige Elizabeth.
