Pine’s Raiders defeated Varnado, 60-48, in a District 9-2A game that was held on Tuesday at home.

Luke Spears led Pine with 17 points that included a 3-pointer.

Adrianeun Johnson posted 14 points and he made two 3-pointers.

P.J. Foster tallied 14.

D.J. Garrett and Zachary Thomas both had seven.

Clint Miley put up two.

Dameon Roberts posted a double-double for Varnado. Roberts scored 28 points and grabbed 12 rebounds and he made three steals.

Tariq Bell posted 11 points and two steals.

Tyler Whitfield recorded four points, 13 rebounds, two blocks and four assists.

Pine’s next game will be on Friday, Jan. 14 against St. Helena College and Career Academy at home.

Varnado will play again on Tuesday against St. Helena College and Career Academy on the road.
