Franklinton Soccer Club Registration Meeting is next month
The Franklinton Soccer Club is holding registration for the 2022 season on Thursday, Jan. 6 at First Baptist Church of Franklinton at 6 p.m.
The meeting will allow players to register, size and order uniforms, there will be a meal served and spring season dates will be announced.

Milltown Athletic Club holding tryouts
The Milltown Athletic Club will be holding tryouts for their track and field team on Sunday, Jan. 9 at Goodyear Park from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.
The group is looking for sprinters, jumpers and long distance runners. They are also looking for throwers, who are 10-under.
Track and field are ages 6-18.
Ages 14-18 are eligible for AAU and USATF competition only and must not have entered the ninth grade to compete during the school season.

Southern Miss Baseball Winter Showcase Camp set for Saturday, Jan. 15
The Southern Miss baseball Winter Showcase Camp is scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 15 at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
The camp is designed for prospective student-athletes to showcase their abilities and participants will be given a chance to have their skills evaluated by college coaches, receive specific instruction to their defensive position, speed training to improve their 60 time, as well as hitting at Pete Taylor Park. Any pitcher who is a dual player will be able to participate at both positions. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt. Lunch will not be provided.
The camp costs $200 per participant and provides an opportunity for players ranging from high school freshman to graduate transfers.
Camp registration for all Southern Miss baseball camps can take place at www.southernmissbaseballcamps.com. Walk ups are welcome.
Camps are open to any and all entrants limited only by number, age, grade level and/or gender.
Check-in for pitchers and catchers is 9:45 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and other positions are set to check-in from 10:30 a.m. until 11 a.m., with the camp starting at 11 a.m.
